I’m Sorry, Prime Minister has announced complete casting for its West End run.

Written and directed by Jonathan Lynn and co-directed by Michael Gyngell, the production marks the final chapter in the Yes, Minister series and becomes the first West End transfer from the Barn Theatre. Two additional weeks have been added to the run following strong early sales.

Griff Rhys Jones returns to the West End as former Prime Minister Jim Hacker, opposite Clive Francis, who reprises the role of Humphrey Appleby, previously played by him at the Barn Theatre.

The newly announced cast also includes William Chubb as Sir David and Stephanie Levi-John as Sophie, alongside Princess Donnough, Eliza Walters, Jeremy Rose, Robert Kitson and Dominic McChesney.

Set years after Jim Hacker’s time in government, the play finds him hoping for a quieter life as the head of Hacker College, Oxford. Instead, he faces opposition from the college committee, prompting the return of Humphrey Appleby, whose approach to administration and procedure remains unchanged. The play follows their attempts to navigate institutional politics within an academic setting.

The show runs from 30 January to the newly extended date of 9 May.

The production is directed by Lynn and co-directed by Michael Gyngell, with Nadia Papachronopoulou serving as assistant director. Design is by Lee Newby, who provides both set and costume design, with sound design by the Ringham Brothers and lighting design by Mark Henderson. Carol Lingwood is the costume supervisor, while casting is handled by Marc Frankum and Jonathan Russell. Video design is by Leo Flint.
