Full casting has been announced for the UK premiere of The Wanderers by Anna Ziegler, running at Marylebone Theatre from 17 October to 29 November 2025.

The play follows prizewinning novelist Abe, who is trying to capture his parents’ untold history while navigating the breakdown of his own marriage. When film star Julia Cheever begins writing to him, their correspondence blurs the lines between imagination and betrayal. The production will be directed by Igor Golyak, following its acclaimed Off-Broadway run.

As previously announced, Anna Popplewell will play Julia, alongside Katerina Tannenbaum as Esther and Paksie Vernon as Sophie. Joining them and confirmed today are Alexander Forsyth as Abe and Eddie Toll as Schmuli.

The creative team includes Jan Pappelbaum (set), Sasha Ageeva (costume), Alex Musgrave (lighting), Anna Drubich (composer), and Julian Starr (sound). Casting is by Lucy Casson, with Harry Armytage of The Production Office as Production Manager. The general manager is Alex Turner and the producers are Sarig Peker and Keren Misgav.

Ziegler explained today: “I’m thrilled that The Wanderers is making its London debut at Marylebone Theatre. The play is about connection – how fragile it can be, how surprising it can be – and I can’t think of a better, more culturally diverse city to ask these questions in. I hope audiences here will find something of themselves in the characters’ struggles, as so many did in New York.”
