First set of 2025 Fringe First award winners revealed

The first five winners of this year’s The Scotman’s Fringe First awards have been revealed.

Given out three times across the Edinburgh Festival month, the awards recognise new pieces of work that have garnered acclaim and prominence at the Fringe.

Sponsored by Stagecoach and Queen Margaret University, they are the oldest prizes at the festival.

The first week of winners are:

Eat The Rich (but maybe not me mates x) – Pleasance Courtyard

Monstering the Rocketman – Pleasance Dome

Red Like Fruit – Traverse Theatre

She’s Behind You – Traverse Theatre

Kanpur: 1857 –  Pleasance Courtyard

It’s a strong start for the Pleasance venues, picking up three awards, with two given to the Traverse Theatre.
