First look at production images of Ian McKellen in King Lear

Images have been released of Chichester Festival Theatre's new production of King Lear, starring Ian McKellen.

The show opens tomorrow night at the theatre, and stars Phil Daniels, Tamara Lawrance, Dervla Kirwan, Sinead Cusack, Damien Molony, Jonathan Bailey, Kirsty Bushell, Patrick Robinson and Danny Webb. The show is directed by Jonathan Munby.

The last time McKellen played Shakespeare's tragic king onstage was ten years ago at the RSC. The rest of the cast includes Richard Clews, John Hastings, Dominic Mafham, Jake Mann, Michael Matus and Caleb Roberts.

King Lear runs at the Chichester Festival Theatre until 28 October.
