First look at cast of the National's Saint George and the Dragon in rehearsals

Images have been released showing the cast of Rory Mullarkey's new play, Saint George and the Dragon, in rehearsals.

The production stars John Heffernan (Oppenheimer) as Saint George alongside Suzanne Ahmet, Jason Barnett, Julian Bleach, Luke Brady, Paul Brennen, Joe Caffrey, Paul Cawley, Richard Goulding, Gawn Grainger, Tamzin Griffin, Reuel Guzman, Stephanie Jacob, Lewin Lloyd, Olwen May, Victoria Moseley, Conor Neaves, Amaka Okafor, Sharita Oomeer, Jeff Rawle, Kirsty Rider and Grace Saif.

Directed by Lyndsey Turner, the piece is described as 'a new folk tale for an uneasy nation'. It runs in the Olivier Theatre from 4 October.

Saint George and the Dragon runs at the National Theatre from 4 October to 2 December.
