Mike Leigh’s play is being revived to mark its 40th anniversary
Pictures have been released of Amanda Abbington in Theatre Royal Bath's 40th anniversary production of Abigail's Party.
The production is currently on a UK tour and opens officially in Oxford in April. Abbington plays Beverly in Mike Leigh's play which is set over one night at a dinner party.
The piece, which is a satire on the '70s middle classes in Britain, was made into a hit TV film in the early '80s starring Alison Steadman as Beverly. Steadman starred as the character in the play's original cast at Hampstead Theatre in 1977.
