The production stars ”Strictly Come Dancing”’s Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone
Strictly Come Dancing's Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone will open in The Last Tango at the Phoenix Theatre in September.
The production will see the pair, who previously starred in Midnight Tango and Dance ‘Til Dawn, return to the West End stage.
The Last Tango follows George as he delves into an attic full of memories. The story is told through rumba, jive, flamenco, salsa and tango performed by a live band.
Directed by Olivier Award-winning choreographer and director Karen Bruce, the show will be produced by by Adam Spiegel Productions (Motown, The Producers, Dance ‘Til Dawn).
The show has been on a 33-week long tour of the UK, and will run at the Phoenix from 22 September to 3 December.
The production will follow Guys and Dolls at the theatre after it was announced the musical was to close early.
Cacace described the show as an "intimate, emotional show", adding she was "looking forward to celebrating our very best work in the West End".
Simone said: "It may be our final theatre show but we’re going out with a bang!"
The Last Tango will run at the Phoenix Theatre from 22 September to 3 December.
