Lisa Dwyer Hogg will star as Emma in the upcoming UK tour of Duncan Macmillan's People, Places and Things, which opens at HOME, Manchester in September.

Jeremy Herrin directs the co-production between Headlong, National Theatre, HOME and Exeter Northcott, which embarks on a tour following its critically acclaimed premiere at the National's Dorfman Theatre in 2015 and subsequent West End transfer.

Dwyer Hogg's previous theatre credits include St Joan (Lyric Belfast), Liola (National Theatre) and Dunsinane (RSC and Hampstead). TV credits include playing Marion Kay in The Fall.

She takes over the role from Denise Gough who won an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Emma, an actress who checks herself into rehab to combat her drug and alcohol addictions. Further casting is to be announced.

In her five-star review for WhatsOnStage, Daisy Bowie Sell said the production was "heady, superb and intoxicating".

People, Places and Things opens in Manchester at HOME from 22 September to 7 October before continuing to Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, Liverpool and Cambridge.
