Emma Watson has revealed to The Daily Telegraph that she would like to try her hand at musical theatre in the not-so-distant future.
Watson told the Telegraph, “I love musical theatre, so I would love to do a musical soon; that would be wonderful”. There have been reports that Watson has been in talks to play Cosette in the film version of Les Miserables, being released later this year, but it has been confirmed that she will not appear in the film, with the role of Cosette being played by Amanda Seyfried.
Although Watson admitted to being “terrified of the Rocky Horror scenes”, her fear of the risqué material and costumes was short-lived: “as it turned out, it was fun, and once I got over how weird it was to go from wearing knitted jumpers to corsets and fishnets, I got it together”.
Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe made his West End debut in Equus in 2007. Will Watson soon be following in his footsteps?
