Emma Hatton takes over as Elphaba in Wicked from February

Emma Hatton will become take over as Elphaba in the London production of Wicked following Jennifer DiNoia's upcoming 14-week run in the role.

Hatton is the current standby Elphaba in the multi award-winning production, and will take over the role full time from February 2015.

The rest of the current cast includes Savannah Stevenson as Glinda, Jeremy Taylor as Fiyero, Martyn Ellis as The Wizard), Liza Sadovy as Madame Morrible, Philip Childs as Doctor Dillamond, Katie Rowley Jones as Nessarose and Sam Lupton as Boq.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire that re-imagined the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Wicked tells the untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students.

Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
