Elf the Musical is heading out on another UK tour this winter.
Featuring a book by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan and an original score by Matt Sklar and Chad Beguelin, the show tells the story of Buddy, who crawled into Santa’s sack as a baby and was raised by elves in the North Pole, only to later discover he is, in fact, a human. He then sets off on a journey to New York City to reunite with his biological father.
Based on the beloved 2003 film which stars Will Ferrell, the musical adaptation originally premiered on Broadway in 2010 and in the West End in 2015.
Under the direction of Jon Conway, the cast will be led by Jordan Conway (as Buddy), who commented: “Buddy the Elf is a truly iconic character and I love playing him. It’s always a heart-warming and hilarious night out when he’s in the room and one of the best sights for me is seeing the audiences all dressed up for the show, especially all the dads in their Elf Christmas sweaters. This show really is an unmissable treat.”
He will be joined in the cast by Kelly Banlaki (as Jovie) and Barry Bloxham (as Walter Hobbs). Dafydd Lansley will play the role of Buddy at certain venues during the tour.
Presented by The World’s Biggest Productions, Elf the Musical will visit Wolverhampton Grand Theatre (11 to 16 November), Congress Theatre, Eastbourne (27 to 30 November), Liverpool M&S Bank Arena (6 and 7 December), Blackpool Winter Gardens (9 to 14 December), Vaillant Live, Derby (16 and 17 December), Bournemouth International Centre (19 and 20 December), Bradford Live (22 and 23 December), and Guildhall, Portsmouth (27 to 29 December).
