The show will open at the Lyric Theatre in New York
Dates have been confirmed for the Broadway run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The show will run in New York at the Lyric Theatre from spring 2018. Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender have confirmed that the official opening date will be Sunday April 22 2018.
Full casting and preview dates will be announced soon. Tickets will go on sale in autumn of this year. Audiences are encouraged to sign up to the Harry Potter play website to keep up to date.
The news will be welcome to fans desperate to see the eighth story, but unable to book tickets to to the sold out show in London. A change for the West End cast was announced recently.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won nine Olivier Awards and eight WhatsOnStage Awards this year, taking home nods for Best Play for Jack Thorne, Best Director for John Tiffany and Best Actor for Jamie Parker.
The Lyric Theatre is currently undergoing a redesign in preparation for the opening of the show.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is currently booking at the Palace Theatre in London until 29 April 2018.
