Bill Kenwright’s new production opens in Bromley in January
Danielle Hope will go from 'Oz to Austria' when she takes on the role of Maria in a touring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein classic The Sound of Music next year.
Hope rose to fame after winning the BBC's Over the Rainbow casting show and subsequently starred in The Wizard of Oz at the Palladium.
She will star in the Bill Kenwright-produced revival of The Sound of Music which opens on 15 January 2015 at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley and then moves to the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton to commence a major national tour.
Directed by Martin Connor with choreography by Bill Deamer and musical direction by David Steadman, the production coincides with the 50th anniversary of the iconic film version starring Julie Andrews.
Further "star casting" is still to be announced.
