Charlie Condou stars in Next Fall at Southwark Playhouse

The former ”Coronation Street” star will lead the cast of the Broadway comedy, which opens in September

Former Coronation Street star Charlie Condou will lead the cast of the UK premiere of comedy Next Fall at the Southwark Playhouse next month.

Geoffrey Naufft's play, which portrays the ups and downs of a couple with opposing religious views, is directed by Luke Sheppard, who helmed the recent production at the Southwark Playhouse of In the Heights.

Charlie Condou is best known for playing Marcus Dent in Coronation Street. His other TV credits include The Impressionists and Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

The rest of the cast comprises Nancy Crane (Chimerica, Vieux Carre), Ben Cura (Viva Forever, La Forza Del Destino), Martin Delaney (The Ministry Of Pleasure, Local Boy), Mitchell Mullen (A Bunch of Amateurs, Superior Donuts) and Sirine Saba (Holy Warriors, Antony & Cleopatra).

With design by David Woodhead and lighting design by Howard Hudson, Next Fall runs at the Southwark Playhouse from 29 September to 25 October 2014 (previews from 24 September). It is produced by James Quaife Productions and David Adkin Limited.
