Evelyn Hoskins will star in Paul Taylor-Mills’ production this Christmas
Casting has been announced for the European premiere of Peter and the Starcatcher this Christmas.
Evelyn Hoskins (Carrie) will star as Molly, a starcatcher apprentice who embarks on a mission to stop a cargo of stardust falling into the wrong hands. On the way, she meets an orphan boy who she helps solves the the mystery of how he became 'the boy who never grew up'.
Based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, the production opens at the Royal & Derngate in Northampton on 29 November.
The production won five Tony Awards for its Broadway run, and sees a cast of 13 play over 100 different characters.
The cast includes Michael Shea (professional debut), Greg Haiste (Nell Gwynn), Dan Starkey (Doctor Who), Michael Matus (The Phantom of the Opera), Sebastien Torkia (Travels With My Aunt), Marc Akinfolarin, Lewis Griffin, Ian Harris, Tendayi Jembere, William Pennington, Miles Yekinni and Tom Attwood (who is also the musical director).
Produced by Paul Taylor-Mills, who has recently been announced as the artistic director of The Other Palace, the play will be directed by Luke Sheppard (In the Heights) with music by Wayne Barker. The play is written by Rick Elice.
Set will be designed by David Woodhead, costumes by Gabriella Slade, lighting by Howard Hudson and sound by Gareth Fry.
Peter and the Starcatcher runs at Royal & Derngate, Northampton from 2 to 31 December with previews from 29 November.
