Terry Johnson’s production opens at Theatre Royal Bath in August and will star Janie Dee and Emma Williams
Janie Dee and Emma Williams will lead the cast of the upcoming musical version of Mrs Henderson Presents, which runs at Theatre Royal Bath from 14 August 2015 'prior to the West End'.
Don Black, George Fenton and Simon Chamberlain's musical is based on the 2005 film starring Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins, which tells the true story of Laura Henderson, an eccentric widow who ran a nude revue at the Windmill Theatre in London's Soho in the 1940s.
Janie Dee will play Mrs Henderson in Terry Johnson's production, with Emma Williams as Maureen, a young woman who Henderson helps. Dee is currently in rehearsals for Ah, Wilderness! at the Young Vic, and her stage credits include 84 Charing Cross Road, Blithe Spirit and Noises Off. Emma Williams's theatre credits include Annie Get Your Gun and Love Story.
The rest of the cast includes Sarah Bakker, Katie Bernstein, Rhiannan Chesterman, Lizzy Connolly, Victoria Hay, Samuel Holmes, Lauren Hood and Matthew Malthouse.
Mrs Henderson Presents runs at Theatre Royal Bath from 14 August to 5 September 2015.
