Casting has been announced for the new collection of satirical works A View from Islington North.

Sarah Alexander, who starred in Coupling, Smack the Pony and Armstrong and Miller, will play alongside Bruce Alexander (A Touch of Frost, Love and Marriage), Steve John Shepherd (EastEnders), Jane Wymark (Midsomer Muders), Joseph Prowen and Kathryn O'Reilly.

A View From Islington North is a selection of plays including two world premieres from Alistair Beaton and David Hare, alongside the first full productions of new pieces by Caryl Churchill and Stella Feehily as well as Mark Ravenhill's The Mother with music from Billy Bragg.

Beaton's piece The Accidental Leader is about a backbench MP attempting to orchestrate a coup, Feehily's How To Get Ahead in Politics follows a chief whip practicing dark arts on an MP. David Hare's Ayn Rand Takes a Stand tells of members of the current government who are visited by a high priestess of the free market while Churchill's Tickets Are Now On Sale imagines a world where language is sponsored.

The pieces are directed by Max Stafford-Clark at the Arts Theatre.

A View from Islington North runs at the Arts Theatre from 24 May to 2 July.
