The festive production hits the Leeds stage this winter
Leeds Playhouse has announced casting for A Christmas Carol, running in its Quarry Theatre from 20 November 2025 to 17 January 2026.
The Charles Dickens classic is directed by Amy Leach and adapted by Deborah McAndrew.
Reece Dinsdale will return to the Playhouse to play Ebenezer Scrooge, following his performance as Howard in Through It All Together. Stephen Collins and Nadia Nadarajah will reprise their roles as Bob and Mrs Cratchit, last seen in the Playhouse’s 2020 filmed version of the production.
The company also features Claudia Kariuki as Christmas Present, Obioma Ugoala as Marley/Fezziwig, Bea Glancy as Christmas Past, Paul Brown as Dick Wilkins/Topper, Danny Colligan as Fred/Young Scrooge, Finton Flynn as Peter Cratchit, and Amy Forrest as Belle/Mrs Fred.
Actor-musicians Jon Bonner, Matthew James Hinchliffe, Esther Lim, and Rosie Strobel complete the adult cast. Casting for Tiny Tim is still to be announced.
The creative team includes set and costume designer Hayley Grindle, choreographer EJ Boyle, composer John Biddle, lighting designer Jai Morjaria, sound designer Ed Clarke, musical director Jonathan Mitra, BSL consultant Adam Bassett, audio description consultants Dan Parr and Esther Irving of Hear The Picture, casting director Lucy Casson, children’s casting and general management by Keston and Keston, and lead BSL interpreter Sarah Cox.
From 27 November, all performances will feature creative audio description, available via headsets collected from the box office.
