The musical will be staged in full at Charing Cross Theatre
Casting has been revealed for new musical Glory Ride, which is set to premiere at Charing Cross Theatre in London from 22 April to 29 July 2023.
The production is based on the true story of Gino Bartali, a Tour de France winner who secretly saved hundreds of people from fascism during World War II. The book, music and lyrics for Glory Ride are by Victoria Buchholz and Todd Buchholz, respectively, with Kelly Devine directing.
Josh St Clair takes on the role of Bartali, with previous credits including Frozen and Wicked. Amy Di Bartolomeo, known for her performance as Catherine of Aragon in Six, plays Adriana Bani, while Fed Zanni, who hails from Italy, portrays Major Mario Carita. Daniel Robinson, Ruairidh McDonald, Ryan Bennett, Peter Watts, Jamie Coyne, Loris Scarpa, Susianna Paisio,Steve Watts and Alice Spigariol round out the cast.
On the creative side, Richard J Hinds serves as associate director and Dave Rose as musical director. PJ McEvoy is responsible for set, costume and video design, with Rob Halliday handling lighting design. Orchestrations are by Jen Green, while Harry Blumenau serves as casting director. Smart Entertainment manages general management, and Federico Bellone is the Italian cultural adviser.
