The tour of Patrick Marber’s show will open at the Theatre Royal Bath
Helen George will star in the UK tour of Patrick Marber's play After Miss Julie.
George, who starred as Trixie Franklin in Call The Midwife, will take on the lead role in the play, which is inspired by Strindberg's masterpiece Miss Julie.
Anthony Banks's production opens at Theatre Royal Bath 24 May next year, and will continue to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Theatre Royal Brighton, Richmond Theatre and Milton Keynes Theatre. Further tour dates will be announced soon.
Marber's play is set in 1945, on the eve of Labour's landslide victory after WWII. At a summer ball, the daughter of a peer wanders into the servant quarters and flirts with her father's chauffeur.
George also recently featured in Strictly Come Dancing and her other stage credits include High School Musical, The Woman in White and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
After Miss Julie runs from 24 to 28 May at Theatre Royal Bath and then tours the UK.
