Carole King and Mark Ronson among guests at Beautiful opening night

The highly anticipated Beautiful – The Carole King Musical opened at the Aldwych Theatre last night with guests including DJ Mark Ronson, comedian Victoria Wood and the multi award-winning singer herself, Carole King, in attendance.

Starring Katie Brayben in the title role, Beautiful tells the story of Carole King's journey from school girl to superstar featuring classics including "Take Good Care of my Baby", "Up on the Roof" and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman".

Other guests included actors Jessica Hynes, Louise Brealey and Elaine Paige and Radio 2 presenter Sara Cox.
