Norwich’s Theatre Royal have some interesting ways of marketing their
shows. The latest concerns the new touring production of the Tim Rice-
Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Evita (reviewed on 27 April).
The special tours are happening on 9 and 16 June from 7.30am and will give participants the chance to enjoy a full English breakfast in the theatre’s café-restaurant. The cost is £13.50 for the meal and the backstage tour. This will show off the musical’s lavish and flexible set and also how much has to happen out of the audience’s sight for a show such as this to make its proper impression. Evita, as you may know, plays at the Theatre Royal between 8 and 20 June.
Sally Thompson, the theatre’s business development manager, says: “This is going to be a great chance to find out more about one of the world’s best-known musicals. It is not often you get an access-all-areas opportunity like this. It will also be a fantastic chance to network with other people over breakfast, to find out more about each other and how we – as a theatre – could help you grow your business.”
