Time for something electric back on stage!

The original production of Billy Elliot the Musical has announced a nationwide search for young performers to play Billy, Michael and Debbie in an upcoming run. Details of dates and location will be confirmed later.
Casting director Jessica Ronane will helm the search.
Boys aged between nine and fourteen, under five feet tall, with unchanged voices are invited to apply for Billy and Michael. Tap and ballet experience is helpful but not essential. Girls auditioning for Debbie must be aged nine to twelve, under four feet eight, with some ballet experience, and must be from the North East of England.
Applications can be made via [email protected], which links to a form to enter details and select an audition city. The same address can be used for questions or to apply for other child roles based in Greater London.
The production has been seen by more than 10.5 million people worldwide and has won over 80 international awards, including ten Tony Awards and five Olivier Awards. Based on the film, the musical is set during the 1984–85 miners’ strike and follows Billy’s journey from boxing to ballet, changing his life and community.
The creative team includes writer Lee Hall, director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling and composer Elton John, with designs by Ian MacNeil, Nicky Gillibrand, Rick Fisher and Paul Arditti. Musical supervision and orchestrations are by Martin Koch.
