Casting has been announced for the upcoming Night of the Living Dead Live at Pleasance Theatre.

Based on the iconic 1968 George A Romero film Night of the Living Dead, the piece is authorised by the Romero estate and runs at London's Pleasance Theatre from 9 April to 19 May.

It will star Ashley Samuels (Fun Home), Jennifer Harding (The Clockmaker's Daughter), Marc Pickering (Boardwalk Empire) alongside Mary McGinlay (Young Scottish Musical Theatre Performer of the Year), Mike Bodie (The Comedy About a Bank Robbery) and Tama Phethean (The Great Duke of Florence).

The show is directed by Benji Sperring (The Toxic Avenger) and sees the events of the film played out on stage. It is written by Christopher Bond, Dale Boyer and Trevor Martin, and created by Christopher Harrison and Phil Pattison. The Pleasance production has design by Diego Pitarch with lighting design by Nic Farman, soundscape design by Samuel West and casting by Jane Deitch.

Audiences are able to sit in "splatter zones" or "supposedly safe zones" within the auditorium, depending on how much they want to get gory.
