The east London venue has ten productions to see out the year

The Arcola Theatre in London has announced its 25th anniversary season, with ten productions running from August to December 2025.
Highlights include the London premiere of Edinburgh Fringe hit Crocodile Fever by Meghan Tyler, directed by artistic director Mehmet Ergen (17 October to 22 November), and the return of Philip Ridley’s Tarantula and The Poltergeist, presented in repertory and reuniting the playwright with director Wiebke Green (11 September to 11 October).
Other returning work includes Michael Mears’ The Mistake, marking 80 years since the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. Directed by Rosamunde Hutt, it follows its previous run at Arcola and a US tour (14 to 18 October).
Aylin Rodoplu’s The Womb brings an absurdist drama with techno-influenced sound and an all-female cast (27 to 30 August). Jessica Norman’s This Little Earth, directed by Imy Wyatt Corner, explores conspiracy, disinformation and climate anxiety (22 October to 15 November), while On the Dotted Line by Inigo Galiano and directed by Eu Jin Hwang reimagines Chekhov for the contemporary financial sector (2 to 6 September)
Buzz Studios offers Petty Men, a reworking of Julius Caesar set backstage with two understudies competing for control (19 November to 20 December). Danusia Iwaszko’s Penned Up, presented with The Hal Company and Suzanna Rosenthal Productions, draws on her experience of working with prisoners to tell stories of creativity behind bars (7 to 11 October).
The season also includes Kate Hamill’s Ms Holmes and Ms Watson – Apt. 2B, a co-production with Reading Rep Theatre reimagining the detective duo in a comic, contemporary setting for Arcola’s alternative festive programming. It runs from 27 November to 20 December.
The season is majority directed by women, and includes relaxed and captioned performances. Arcola continues its Pay What You Can initiative every Tuesday.
