The ”Dreamgirls” star and ”Kinky Boots” composer will join Kit Harington, Carrie Hope Fletcher and more as part of the ceremony
Amber Riley and Cyndi Lauper will appear at this year's Olivier Awards.
Glee star Riley has been announced as one of the presenters at the 40th anniversary awards ceremony. Riley will star as Effie White in the upcoming production of Dreamgirls.
Singer and composer Cyndi Lauper will perform as part of the ceremony on 3 April. The composer has been nominated for Autograph Sound Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music for her new musical Kinky Boots. American singer and pianist Michael Feinstein will also perform.
In Covent Garden Piazza an ITV stage will be hosted by Carrie Hope Fletcher and Michael Xavier, and will feature performances from some shortlisted shows including Jersey Boys, Matilda the Musical and Les Miserables. The stage will also host a live stream of the ceremony.
As well as Riley, Kit Harington, about to open in Jamie Lloyd's Doctor Faustus will also present an award. The actor is joined by The Maids stars Uzo Aduba, Zawe Ashton and Laura Carmichael.
This year, all eight nominees for Best Musical Revival and Best New Musical will perform. In the Heights, Bend It Like Beckham, Kinky Boots, Mrs Henderson Presents, Bugsy Malone, Guys and Dolls, Gypsy and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers will be seen on stage.
The Olivier Awards take place on Sunday 3 April, hosted by Michael Ball. This year the awards will be broadcast in full on ITV3 on Monday 4 April.
