Amanda Abbington and Danny Mac in A Little Princess – first look

Photos have been released offering a first look at Danny Mac (Sunset Boulevard) and Amanda Abbington (Sherlock) in the UK premiere of new musical A Little Princess, ahead of the show's concert performance at Royal Festival Hall on 28 May.

Directed by Arlene Phillips, the piece has music by Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family, Big Fish) with book and lyrics by Brian Crawley. Telling the story of a young girl who goes from her home in Africa to a London boarding school, the musical is based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It has costume and projection design by PJ McEvoy, lighting design by Nic Farman and musical direction from Alan Berry.

It was announced today that Mac and Abbington would be joined by Rebecca Trehearn, Alexia Khadime and Adam J Bernard. The concert will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
