The cast and director were joined by author Anne Washburn
"I honestly have never seen anything as original in my life," tweeted Almeida artistic director Rupert Goold recently after watching the first run-through of Mr Burns, and it's hard to disagree.
Anne Washburn's play (if it can be so called) is a futuristic drama that sees a much loved episode of The Simpsons being recalled by a group of survivors in a world without power.
Celebrating its European premiere at the Almeida last night were the cast, including Jenna Russell, Annabel Scholey and Maria Friedman's partner Adrian der Gregorian, as well as the author, who told the BBC: "It's not a play about The Simpsons, it's a play about people for whom The Simpsons are important."
