RuPaul's Drag Race's Todrick Hall to star as Billy Flynn in West End Chicago

Hall is known as a judge on the show and has previously played the role of Flynn before

Todrick Hall will join the West End production of Chicago, it has been announced.

Hall, who rose to fame on American Idol, is a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race and has almost 3 million subscribers on YouTube. His stage credits include the Broadway productions of Kinky Boots (as Lola) and Chicago (where he also played Flynn).

He will take on the role in London from 17 November until the end of its run in January, joining Sarah Soetaert as Roxie Hart, Josefina Gabrielle as Velma Kelly, Mazz Murray as Mama Morton and Paul Rider as Amos Hart.

Kander and Ebb's Chicago returned to the West End in March this year. The show originally opened in London in 1997, winning the Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production and ran for 15 years.

Since opening in March, Cuba Gooding Jr, Martin Kemp and Duncan James have all played Flynn.

Chicago runs until 5 January.
