Cast and stars celebrate opening night of Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour

Cast and stars celebrated the opening night of Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour in the West End last night.

The show, which is Lee Hall's adaptation of Alan Warner's novel The Sopranos, originally opened in Edinburgh in 2015 and then ran at the National Theatre in 2016, winning the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.

Telling the tale of six schoolgirls, Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour is set in Edinburgh as the women arrive for a choir competition, but instead go out on the lash.

At opening night last night the cast joined producer Sonia Friedman, director Vicky Featherstone and writer Lee Hall along with Samantha Bond, Samantha Spiro and Bertie Carvel to celebrate.

In her five star review of the show, Sarah Crompton said the piece has "simultaneously broadened and deepened" for the West End, and "really rocks the house".

Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour is currently booking at the Duke of York's Theatre until 2 September.
