Nathan Amzi has joined the cast of Heathers, taking the roles of Big Bud Dean and Coach Ripper.

Amzi took the parts at last minute – only days from opening night – stepping in to perform the parts in super quick time. He said: "I have loved jumping in becoming a part of this incredibly talented company! They are a true theatre family from the producers, creatives, cast, through every department.

"It's been the fastest rehearsal I've ever had to performance, which was only possible with this extraordinary team. When I saw the show as an audience member it blew me away, it's high-octane fun, full of heart backed by a stellar company. So to join their family is a joy."

Amzi's previous credits include One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at Sheffield Crucible, Prom Queen at the Other Palace and Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre.

Amzi joins a cast which includes Carrie Hope Fletcher, T'Shan Williams, Sophie Isaacs, Jodie Steele, Jamie Muscato and Hugh Maynard. The piece is based on the cult 1988 teen film which starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater and has been adapted by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy. The show originally opened in London at the Other Palace in June 2018.

Heathers is directed by Andy Fickman with choreography from Gary Lloyd, design from David Shields, lighting from Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson.
