Mischief, the creators of the hugely popular and multi award-winning The Play That Goes Wrong, have announced that their hit show Peter Pan Goes Wrong is set to return to the West End this Christmas.

Co-penned by Mischief’s writing trio of Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, the play is based on J M Barrie’s classic story, and sees the Cornley Drama Society back on stage battling technical hitches, flying mishaps, and cast disputes as they attempt to present the much-loved tale of Peter Pan. The piece received a five-star rave when it first ran, being described as “an absolute must see”.

Nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2016, Peter Pan Goes Wrong has enjoyed two successful West End seasons, a tour of Australia and New Zealand, and two major UK tours. A one-hour version was broadcast on primetime television in December 2016, with David Suchet as the guest narrator.

The play will now be performed at the Lyric Theatre from Thursday 23 November 2023 to Sunday 14 January 2024, with a gala performance on Tuesday 28 November. In addition to its run in the West End, Peter Pan Goes Wrong will embark on a UK tour from September 2023. The play can currently be seen around the world, with original members of the Mischief company previewing it on Broadway, where it will officially open on 19 April.

Speaking about the show’s return, Kenny Wax, producer, said: “What a wonderful day for Mischief, announcing a return to the West End over the Christmas holidays, as the original Mischief Company preview Peter Pan Goes Wrong at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Broadway. Whichever way you look at it, they must inadvertently be doing something right!”

The play is directed by Adam Meggido, with set designs by Simon Scullion, costumes by Roberto Surace, lighting by Matt Haskins, and sound by Ella Wahlstrom. Original music is by Rob Falconer and Richard Baker. Full casting for the West End run of the show will be confirmed at a later date.

Tickets go on sale at 10am today via the Mischief website and the box office. Select tour dates are on sale below.
