David Bowie's Lazarus musical to become virtual reality experience

The David Bowie musical Lazarus is to be made in to a virtual reality experience as part of the V&A's 2017 Performance Festival.

Footage of the production will be screened during the VHS to VR event on 30 April. The curator of the National Video Archive of Performance, Emily Harris, will then speak about how the recording was created before inviting the audience to experience a recording with a VR headset.

The museum recorded the production during the London run at King's Cross Theatre in January which starred Michael C Hall, Amy Lennox and Sophia Anne Caruso.

The festival will also see the premiere of William Oldroyd's film Lady Macbeth followed by a question and answer session, and the museum’s first ever stand-up comedy night featuring John Lloyd, Harriet Braine and Nish Kumar.

The V&A Performance Festival runs from 21 to 30 April, and admission to most events is free. For more information, click here.
