Cast announced for Paul Auster's City of Glass

The adaptation of Auster’s novel will get its world premiere in Manchester

Casting has been announced for the world premiere stage adaptation of Paul Auster's City of Glass.

It will be the first time Auster's 1985 novel about a crime writer has been adapted for the stage.

Mark Edel-Hunt and Chris New will play writer Daniel Quinn, who receives a mysterious phone call in the middle of the night. He is later hired by a strange woman called Virginia to protect her and her husband from her sociopath father-in-law.

It opens at HOME, Manchester on 9 March, and at the Lyric Hammersmith on 26 April.

The cast also includes Vivienne Acheampong (Rainbow Class) and Jack Tarlton (Pitcairn), and will be directed by Leo Warner.

City of Glass has been adapted for the stage by Duncan Macmillan and will be directed by Leo Warner.

City of Glass will run at HOME, Manchester from 9 to 18 March, with previews from 4 March. It will then run at Lyric Hammersmith from 26 April to 13 May, with previews form 20 April.
