Approaching Empty at Kiln Theatre cast announced

The show opens at the Kiln Theatre next year before touring

Casting has been announced for the world premiere production of Ishy Din's new play Approaching Empty.

The co-production between Tamasha, Live Theatre and Kiln Theatre will open at the Kiln on 4 January with previews from 7 January 2019. Starring in the piece will be Kammy Darweish (Mansha), Rina Fatania (Sameena), Karan Gill (Shazad), Nicholas Khan (Raf), Nicholas Prasad (Sully) and Maanuv Thiara (Tany).

Following its run at Kiln, it then tours to Live Theatre, Newcastle; Tron Theatre, Glasgow; Assembly Roxy, Edinburgh; Derby Theatre; Belgrade Theatre, Coventry; Curve, Leicester; Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch, and Coliseum Theatre, Oldham.

Din's play is directed by Pooja Ghai and is set in a minicab office in north east England. It follows two friends Mansha and Raf who decide to go into business together. Designs are from Rosa Maggiora, lighting from David Plater and the composer and sound designer is Arun Ghosh.
