Stephen Daldry's An Inspector Calls is returning this autumn for a major UK tour, 70 years after it first premiered.

The Oscar-nominated director's production of the thriller will return for a 28-week run, starting at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford this September and will include with a week at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin.

Daldry first directed the show in 1992 at the National Theatre, for which it won the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Revival, and more recently at the Novello Theatre in 2009 before transferring to Wyndham's Theatre.

The production will include a score from Oscar-winner Stephen Warbeck (Billy Elliot), Olivier-winning design from Ian McNeil, and Tony-winning lighting from Rick Fisher.

Whilst there is no word on the cast right now, BBC One are producing an adaptation of the book starring David Thewlis (Harry Potter, War Horse) and Ken Scott (The Hobbit).

It will be produced on tour by PW Productions, with associate director Julian Webber.

The tour will run from September until May 2016, and will be calling at Bath, Cambridge, Llandudno and Aberdeen. For more information and to book tickets, click here.
