Octagon Has Secret Thoughts, 12 May

David Thacker‘s next production at the The Octagon in Bolton following the success of Fred Dibnah play – The Demoltion Man is the World Premiere of David Lodge‘s Secret Thoughts.

The production is an adaptation of the acclaimed novel Thinks… by Lodge. He is one of the UK’s foremost writers whose astonishing
career has spanned more than fifty years. He has won countless awards,
including Royal Television Society’s Award for Best Drama (Nice Work)
and the Whitbread Book of the Year (How Far Can You Go?).

Taking on the role of married University professor Ralph Messenger, a ground-breaking cognitive scientist and a notorious philanderer, will be Rob Edwards (pictured). Rob has recently appeared on the Octagon stage as Lord Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and has worked with Director David Thacker on several productions over the years. Rob famously played the role of Scar in the West End musical The Lion King, receiving an Oliver Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for this role in 2000.

Kate Coogan will appear oppostite Rob in the role of recently bereaved novelist Helen Reed. Kate has appeared in numerous theatre productions, most recently playing Vera in Stepping Out at the Oldham Coliseum. She also has many television credits to her name including; Moving On, Hometime, Hollyoaks, The Royal, and Emmerdale.

Secret Thoughts runs at the Octagon from 12 May – 4 June.
