The site-specific production of Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution will extend its run at London's County Hall until 16 September 2018.

The show, which currently stars Catherine Steadman (Downton Abbey, Oppenheimer), Jack McMullen and David Yelland (The Crown), opened at the central London venue last month. It is directed by Lucy Bailey (Titus Andronicus, Globe). The cast for the extension period is to be announced.

The production takes place in a courtroom setting and has designs by William Dudley, lighting by Chris Davey and sound by Mic Pool. Audience members sit in the jury box and give their verdict at the end of the show.

Starting life as a novella, the show was then adapted by Christie herself in the 1950s and follows a dubious murder trial at a time when the death penalty was still in place. It marks the first major production of a Christie play to open in London since the 1960s.
