Of Mice and Men starring James Franco and Chris O'Dowd gets NT Live broadcast

The production will be the first Broadway show to be filmed by NT Live

The Broadway production of Of Mice and Men starring Chris O'Dowd and James Franco will be the first from across the pond to be filmed as part of NT Live.

The play will be broadcast internationally, with screening dates to be announced soon.

Anna D. Shapiro's revival of John Steinbeck's classic novel also includes in the cast Leighton Meester and Jim Norton, and was the first production of the spring to recoup its full capitalisation in twelve weeks.

Of Mice and Men also features in the cast Ron Cephas Jones, Alex Morf, Joel Marsh Garland, James McMenamin, Jim Ortlieb and Jim Parrack. It is designed by Todd Rosenthal with costume design by Suttirat Larlarb, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Rob Milburn & Michael Bodeen original music by David Singer, fight direction by Thomas Schall, hair & wig design by Charles G. LaPointe and casting by Calleri Casting.

Producer David Binder said of the broadcast: "I can’t think of a greater honor that could be bestowed on this production of Steinbeck’s masterwork than to have an opportunity for millions of theatre lovers around the world to see our production under the auspices of National Theatre Live".
