Henry Winkler, best known for playing “The Fonz” in the hit American TV show, will act as creative consultant for the UK premiere of Happy Days – A New Musical, which will tour the UK from January 2014.

The show will be directed and choreographed by Andrew Wright, who won the 2013 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Choreographer for his work on Singin’ in the Rain.

With a book by the sitcom’s original creator Garry Marshall and songs from Paul Williams, plus the famous theme tune, the show features the “King of Cool” Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli and a host of other characters as they battle to save their favourite diner from demolition.

Former Sugababe Heidi Range will star as Pinky Tuscadero in the production, which had previously been rumoured to have Craig Revel Horwood attached to it.

Currently booking until June 2014, the show opens in Bromley on 13 January, before touring to Brighton, Hull, Dublin, Southampton, Sheffield, Glasgow, Bristol, Norwich, Southend, Woking, Cambridge, Sunderland, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Dartford, Canterbury, Wolverhampton and Milton Keynes.

Happy Days – A New Musical has arrangements and orchestrations by John McDaniel, with production design by Tom Rogers, lighting design by Philip Gladwell and sound design by Ben Harrison.
