If you ring and book seats at the Old Vic and request front row, you will not be given front row, even though you are told that is what you are getting! The front row is given to under 25's although you are not informed of this at the time. Also as time goes on, further rows are added - in front of the front row! Thus by the time you arrive for your performance you are actually 4 rows from the front. I have complained about this to the manager of the ticket office only to be told there is nothing can be done. I should know by now as this is the 3rd time this has happend to me. Its pointless ringing on the day the tickets are released as the extra rows are not available at this time. Its just pot luck if you actually get the seat you thought you had purchased.

The under 26 scheme has always had the front row since they introduced the scheme, that's the only way to sit on the very front row, what ever that row turns out to be depending on the production. I am under 26 and have always sat in the front row.

Sound like it was not made clear when you booked, but to be honest its not the best place to sit anyway and glad to pay £12 I would never pay £50 to sit there.
