I have a few gaps in the diary between now and Xmas, so am wondering what you would recommend that I may have missed. I like serious stuff but also good comedy, not musicals... I have booked for Enron for Jan in West End. And I've got the new Alan Bennett.
And what stands out for the New Year so far? I am prepared to cut the cellophane off new diary pages about now.

If you want something serious, then I couldn't recommend Our Class at the NT any more, it is sensational. And I loved Speaking in Tongues too.
Aside from that I am looking forward to Mrs Klein with Clare Higgins at the Almeida, and Cock with Ben Whishaw at the Royal Court in the next couple of months.
The only two MUST-sees I have listed for the rest of the year are slightly controversial. Pains of Youth may be Katie Mitchell, but I approve of her casting, dammit! But Inherit the Wind should be a safe enough bet, as long as Trevor Nunn hasn't artificially inflated the running time any. So definitely add the latter (if you've not seen it already? I forget) but steer clear of the former until we've had time to check it out.

' I've booked already, am over enthusiastic as usual. Is this the play with two people in dustbins? I am away from my library so can't check at the moment'..
