This is my first post in the play section... as you can see I am more of a musical kinda guy... however my boyfriend LOVES this play and I'm taking him as a surprise tomorrow before we go see La Cage Aux Folles...

Do we know the run time of this?? The saturday matinee's start at 4pm and the evening is 7.30pm so I take it we'll have plenty of time to get to the Playhouse Theatre after the matinee as La Cage starts at 7.30pm?? Let's hope anyway as the tickets are book!!

Great deals on Lastminute.com smile.gif I got best available Grand Circle seats for £17.50 which is up to £20 off (depending on which seat you get like)

I'll shall report back how it was!! I have never seen it before or read the play so I'm interested to see what it's like smile.gif Thanks people smile.gif

You'll be fine. I remember seeing it years ago and it clocks in at under 2 hours with no interval, if I'm right...

Saw this last night - it's in terrific shape with a strong cast.

Marianne Oldham who plays Sheila is especially fine. Enjoyed it enormously; if you haven't ever seen it you must. And if you have, it's worth catching it again...

I saw this three times when it was at the Garrick. Am going on Thursday night to see it at the Novello and can't wait. Such a fantastic production.

Can't wait to see this again; saw it a month or two ago at Wimbledon - it was excellent then
with Sandra Duncan reigning supreme as the Mother. What an actress! After seeing her doing loads of stuff in South Africa, saw her about 9 years ago in the wonderful Repertory season in the superb Pitlochry Festival Theatre (slogan: "Stay Six Days and see Six Plays") and within 3 days, she essayed Judith Bliss, Blanche du Bois and Lady Bracknell - the last two on a Saturday, going from the fragile Blanche at the matinee, to the sweeping Bracknell in the evening!!! Almost unbelievable - why has it taken so long for this actress to be used in the West End? And incidentally, her Blanche could give Rachel Weiz a run for her money, let alone Edith Evans' Bracknell!

thanks guys!! We managed easily to get ot La Cage from the Novello Theatre. Your right in saying it's only 1 hour and 45 minutes with no interval smile.gif It was truely a great piece of theatre!! Having never read the play or seen this before the time went in the flash!! Such a thrilling and engaging piece of theatre!! I highly recommend this to anyone and this comes from a person who normally only goes to musicals. It was such a tense atmosphere and the cast were just perfect!! With some great deals on this show at the moment GO SEE IT!!!

Yes - Marianne's performance was my favourite too! Believe it or not it was the first straight play that I've ever seen, and such a fantastic production.

Have heard this is transferring from The Novello as it has done tremendous business. Well deserved. It is a terrific cast.

Yes, moving into Wyndhams after Shawshank. I think it's done so well because it's such a fantastic production of the play. It's spectacular and atmospheric and contains some powerful messages. I had avoided it for years as I thought it was something awfully old and stodgy like The Mousetrap. But how wrong I was, this is serious drama and so well done.
