Come on, what are the chances? tongue.gif

It would be fantastic, but I'm not sure how many theatres could actually handle it. Plus the cost would be enormous, and possibly have some effect on the London production.

Would be incredible though. I think it will happen one day, perhaps a few years away. smile.gif

This has been an on off idea for a while, It would work on tour and I believe that it wouldn't affect the london production too much. Guessing if it ever did work then it would look a little different. Hopefully not too much though.
I also believe that it could work at quite a few places, ie edinburgh, manchester, birmingham, southampton, cardiff, dublin, bristol, and possibly even slightly smaller ones like belfast, bradford, sunderland, liverpool etc

Ermm, Sunderland is small? It is one of the largest theatres in the country.

And how would they not handle it? The set for Wicked is no bigger than for Chitty/Producers/Poppins and they all managed to tour.

each show you listed made alterations to make it tour, and yes Sunderland is big but i wouldn't class it as one of the biggest. though i do agree it is big.

Sunderland has a huge house, but has a smallish stage in comparison.

By which i mean, a 2000 seater house could be expected to have a very wide apron, which sunderland doesnt have.

Poppins didnt come into Sunderland becase of the size of the venue.

If wicked was to tour, would it become soething that would endlessly tour, and there lose its quality, lok at chitty, whose producers have downsized each consecutive production.

I don't know how wicked has a big set?
Flying Machine, Bubble - could edit if needed.
Beds, cupboards, blackboard, benches,
No good deed - walk on.

It could be done easily!

You still need that lift for DG. I like the flying bubble machine, and if you edit it out you will also have to mess around with the script as it is mentioned in there near the end.

If you can fly scenery in you can fly a bubble in. It might not be on a long arm; it may have to be wired, but it ain't gonna be that hard. Potential profit is the only thing driving this decision. What will it make? What will it take from London? As soon as this equation is favourable 'Wicked' will tour.
