Hoping someone can help. I have never been able to access the interactive seating plan where you can choose your own seats. Ive got java loaded but the map never shows, at best it shows a grey box.
I can use everyother online booking system (eg Almeida, National etc) but for some reason I cant get the mayflowers to work.
any tips on what im doing wrong? should I take java off and reload it?
Attn anyone who uses The Mayflower Theatres booking website

As the I.T dept. would say...
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?
Is it all plugged in?
*scratches head*

Hi Marius
Java seems pretty unreliable at times - you will probably find you have the same problem on other ticket booking websites that use the same system as us (eg. BIC in Bournemouth).
The problem you describe seems to happen to a fair few people - what I normally recommend is that they uninstall and reinstall Java, or try another computer, or use the 'best available' ticket selection instead, which doesn't use Java.
At the minute Java is the only way we can offer 'choose your seat' ticket selection, and while it does cause problems for some customers, the high demand for this facility means it's still worth offering.
However, we will hopefully be launching a new website in the next few months which will offer a HTML based (ie. no Java or other downloads necessary) seat choice system which we hope will help customers with this and other problems.
Kind regards

Wow great response, cheers, will try that, if not look forward to the new website. Although other than the choosing seats problem the mayflower website is so easy to use its great.
Cheers

What version of Java do you have? I tried it with 1.5 and it worked well enough. (If you don't know what version of Java you have, open a command prompt and type "java -version".)
If you want to try installing a new version of Java remember to uninstall the old version first. If you try uninstalling the old version of Java after installing a new version the removal will wipe out some vital system settings that were set up when you installed the new version.

It may be worth trying a different web browser. The Mayflower bookings work for me with Firefox or IE but not with Netscape. No idea why.

For future reference... we've launched our new website including a new online booking system - it still has a seating plan you can choose from, but now it does not need Java installed. It should work on all systems without any irritating downloads! Let me know if you have any further problems.
