Dear All

I was just wondering if anyone had used 'Hit The Theatre' web ticket agency?

I've booked 2 tickets for their £20 Spring Awakening offer for the matinee this Saturday but was a little concerned when it came to authorise my debit card as I was asked to enter my ATM number. As I wasn't happy to do this I cancelled the authorisation process and it appears to have completed my order anyway. I have received an email confirmation so I assume everything is ok although I will email the company tomorrow to double check. I wondered if anyone else had either used the site before or encountered this kind of authorisation - I haven't and thought it a little odd.

Thanks.
Stompy

I've used them quite a few times, I don't remember having to type in my atm number though, that's very strange...

are you sure you have not been asked for your security number or CVV number as its also called (last 3 digits on the signature strip of the card?)

Hi, Thanks for your replies.
No - it asked for my expiry date, the security code from the reverse of the card and then my ATM code. When I clicked the question mark next to the box it offered a pop up saying something like 'this will only be used to verify your order'... I wish I'd taken a screen grab actually as it was really weird. I'm used to giving the security code from the reverse of the card (happy to do that) and also the Verification Passwords that I've set up for online purchasing but never an ATM code.
Any other thoughts from people?!
Cheers.

I'm currently working on a card verification project and I've just spoken to the local expert, and as far as we know there's nobody who asks for your ATM PIN (which is what I assume you mean) except with a chip and pin transaction or when using an ATM. It might be worth checking with the card supplier to see if the money has gone to the company it should have gone to.

After all, the whole point of the number is that you never disclose it to anyone. It's a type of two-factor authentication: it depends on something you have (the card) and something you know (the PIN). If you hand both of them out then you lose the protection.
In my opinion anyone interested in improving himself should not rule out becoming pure energy.

Dear All,

Firstly many thanks for your comments. I have found them interesting and glad that some of you have been able to book with Hit The Theatre previously.

Security is something we take most seriously and the customer experience is something we pride ourselves on.

I have personally spoken to Protx, who handle our payments and are one of the largest of such operators and they assure me that there is no such thing on our system that would ask for an ATM number. As a customer you must certainly never give this to any vendor. I have tried to contact stompboy about the booking to acertain more details and these can then be passed on for further investigation.

The £20 Spring Awakening offer has been extended until the 22nd May and I trust we will continue to have many happy customers.

If you are ever on the website and unsure what details you are entering, or would like further information, please do not hesitate to call (020 71939050) and we would be delighted to help.

Many thanks for raising this and for the informative replies.

Kind regards,

Will.

I'm still perplexed about exactly what happened when I made my booking! Having booked to see many shows over the internet, and having also made other purchases online, the verification box which appeared definitely flagged a concern with me so I'm sure I didn't dream it!

Having said that, Will Howard from Hit The Theatre has been most helpful with my query and confirmed my booking went through correctly - I was allocated amazing seats in the stalls so I'm really looking forward to the show this weekend.

I would have no hestitation to use the site again, regardless of my initial concerns - in fact I'm very much tempted to their current Jersey Boys offer of top price tickets for Tuesday performances (matinee or evenings) at just £26.50! Bargain!

Stompboy.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone used the website Hit the Theatre to book tickets before, Im thinking of using it to book tickets for Billy Elliot as they are half price.

If anyone has used them before, do you get good seats and are they reliable, Thanks for any help!
