What's going on down at SEE? I rang up to book a ticket for first Friday evening in September for Priscilla. The guy who took my call said that there are masses of tickets available for that night, and that quite frankly it would be better if I just turned up at the theatre and bought one then, rather than book in advance now.

Are they trying to shoot the show in the foot themselves? He discouraged me from making a booking and gave the impression of a show that is struggling to sell tickets even for a Friday night.

When I looked at SEE online, the "best" stalls seat it offered was M20, which is not exactly front stalls so what is the real situation on bookings?
The show seems to have extended booking from Feb to May next year, but if they are going to carry on like that with phone callers, things don't look too encouraging.

That does sound very bad!

But do remember a large portion of the stalls (especially centre stalls) is (or certainly was) premium seating

I've noticed when I've booked tickets through See and ticketmaster etc that the system often tells you that only a certain section of stalls are available, which makes it seem like the show is selling very well. But in actuality the seats you can't book have been allocated to different agencies, and are not sold out at all.

It makes it very difficult to actually find the best seats for something you want to see. What's worse is when tickets are then available from TKTS on the day you go to see it, and people seem to have got those better seats for half-price.

It makes me very wary of pre-booking anything!

I now only pre-book special offers or something that i have always wanted to see or a friend has always wanted to see i.e Oliver! at drury lane. I personally feel tkts is one of the best places to get tickets.
"How dare they try to end this beauty!?!?"

Yeah as the journey to London for me is about 4 hours, it makes sense to book in advance so I can see what I want to, however when I have stayed up with one of my best mates we have always just gone down to Tkts or one of the other booths and always been lucky and had some really good seats. tongue.gif
