Is it really necessary for whatsonstage to flood our board with job adverts so that discussion posts (the proper subject of a discussion board, surely) get lost in the inundation? As I understand it, they can be accessed from the homepage. Someone posted a while ago about this, and since then it has become more frequent - it's becoming a nuisance.

Yes I agree. I usually use the "Today's Active Topics" function to see the latest discussion posts and just get a load of job adverts. I wonder if there's a way for WOS to exclude the job adverts from the "Today's Active Topics" function. Jobs should be kept separately for those actively looking for jobs and disussion should be for discussion!

And I use "View New Posts" (a highly useful feature), with largely the same result.

I should of course have put this in General Discussion. Perhaps a moderator can move it for me, please.

However, if you're looking for a job and are new to this board, it's actually very useful and I'm very grateful that they highlight the jobs as well as the discussions. It seems just as much of a nuisance to post this topic in the plays section, when surely it should be in General Chat.

Can't say it bothers me in the least. I come to the forum, and can see active discussions by clicking through General Chat, Musicals, Plays, wherever I feel like looking today. Although someone should probably point out to them the futility of linking to specific jobs when the links instead go to a generic search page rather than the specific job page as implied.
