As per -

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/13001..._July_1_Concert

A fantastic evening - to be broadcast on Radio 2 on 31 July 2009. Song list -
Part 1
FR – “When You’re Smiling”
LL – “Minstrels melody – You Make Me Happy + (sorry, missed this one) +Trolley song”
JB –“ I Got Rhythm“
LH – “Just In Time“
FR “San Francisco“
FR / LL – “Get Happy“ “Happy Days” (reprise of arrangement with JG and Barbara Striesand)
All – "Thats Entertainment"

Part 2
(The Orchestra did a wonderful "Wizard Of Oz" medley).
LH – “Zing went my heart strings“
JB – “Chicago“
FR – “Stormy Weather“
LH - “Come Rain or Come Shine“ (!!!) Big cheers, stunning.
LL - “Dixie Melody“
LL - “The Man That Got Away“
JB & LL – “We’re A Couple of Swells“. Lots of interaction on stage between the two, very entertaining to watch.
JB – “Swanee”
LL & *Judy Garland* – “Star” duet. Incredibly moving, Lorna's bottom lip trembled and I'm sure I wasn't the only one reaching for a tissue.

Best evening!

Am I the only person who is bored to tears of Lorna Luft cashing in on her mother's stardom?

And didn't she once say that she would not sing her mother's songs? One song would be a tribute. A whole evening of them would be a crashing bore.

It's a BBC recording. An hour and a half "Friday Night is Music Night". Listen to it and then judge, bit premature to judge before you hear it. Not your cuppa tea, fine, but sheesh, why so negative, loves?

I'm sure the quality of performance is great, and most of those songs actually are my cup of tea. What I was saying is that I am bored of Lorna Luft doing Judy Garland related stuff. smile.gif

The TV series 'Life With Judy Garland' based on her book, her CD 'Songs My Mother Taught Me', every single time she does an interview she manages to get Judy in somewhere. It gets OLD! dry.gif

She is a superb performer, a terrific singer, with a long experience in musicals and dramas, and she must have a huge repertoire of songs, so why, yet again, dig up the Judy ones? OK, she no doubt sings them better than anyone else, but enough is enough already.

Incidentally, I do get fed up with publicists and the media constantly referring to her as Judy Garland's daughter, as if she were not a great star in her own right. Surely, one would have to be an inhabitant of Mars not to know the relationship.

The show was amazing and who better than to pay a tribute to Judy Garland than her daughter Lorna. It's 40 years since the death of Judy and 70 years since the Wizard of Oz which was why this tribute was being made.

For those of you who think it will be boring then don't tune in to listen. There clearly are people (myself obviously) who enjoyed it thoroughly. Lorna was totally deserving of the many standing ovations.

A fantastic evening!

Hear hear! Agree entirely with kitkat and AnnT. Plus, let's not forget that Judy was Lorna's mother, and it's pergectly normal that she would want to honour her mother in the best way they both know how.

I don't see that there is a time limit on it. I mean the public still clearly wish to remember Judy. And it's not as if Lorna will stop remembering her mother ever. And I'm happy about that!
