I regularly visit The Lowry theatre as it has a good range of productions, bringing tours that may previously have skipped Manchester. As I go with my family, have a sister at uni and I work till 6, we all usually go on a Saturday night as we can manage that best - it's usually the last night of a run. In 90% of cases I will never get a programme as they have run out. I understand they have to limit the print run so they don't have waste but I am consistently fobbed off with a bad photocopy of a cast list and they almost never allow for a busy Saturday night. I am sometimes told they have run out in the matinee performance. That means the whole Saturday night audience misses out on a programme and the Lowry, while saving money on a print run, are missing out on huge programme sales and losing audience satisfaction. As I collect programmes and often get them signed, I find this problem hugely annoying. Has anyone else 'suffered' the same?

No I haven't, that's a shame tho that you can't get a programme. It's probably my fault as I ALWAYS get one when I go there and I have been to see loads of shows there too as it's my favourite theatre outside London.

Yes, I've found that too.
I always buy a programme for everything I see, and go to the Lowry regularly, so it's quite annoying to find that they've run out - and on the biggest night of the week
I like to read my programme from cover to cover so being fobbed off with a 'free' photocopy of the cast list isn't much consolation.
That said, I do love the Lowry

My gripe about the Lowry is that after nearly ten years of visiting there's no sort of loyalty discounts for individuals. With the amount I have spent there I would appreciate some sort of discount or some sort of encouragement to make it attractive to keep coming back in such hard times.
I adore the place, but am sad to see it so overdeveloped now. The view from the small theatre's bar was beautiful as the sun set over the water. It now has a view of media city, and a lot of scaffolding.
And the car park...anyone understand that system?

I think it's ridiculous that you can buy a pack of mints for 30p from the newsagents and get your parking ticket validated and yet spend over a hundred pounds on tickets and still have to pay the full parking fee. (I usually am forced to buy something petty before the performance to waive the parking fee but there should be some sort of arrangement in place between theatre and car park)

Just had a quick count up and I've been the the Lowry 11 times since New year for various shows...
I've long since given up on the car-park and now park away - for free, and walk the last 5 minutes in.
A lovely walk on a fine evening across the quays, but a bit miserable on a cold, dark, wet night - at least it saves me some money and I don't have to queue for ages to get out
I must admit that a loyalty discount does sound appealing; buying the ticket, paying booking fee, voluntary £1 donation, a drink, programme, another drink

I've not suffered this but in relation to Lowry programmes my objection is the price. They are hideously overpriced and often quite basic.
I won't be called a baggage!

I was at The Lowry again today for the production 'An Inspector Calls. I have been numerous times to this theatre and I cannot say a bad word against it. It is the best theatre I have ever visited (and I've been to 100's). The facilities are first rate, the staff are friendly, the seats are luxurious, the view is excellent from most seats, the audiences nearly always well behaved. Another relaxing and enjoyable visit to the theatre was had and I hope to have many more here. You only need to buy a small item from one of the outlet shops (like in my case chewing gum) and you can get 4 hours free parking!
10/10 for this brilliant venue!
The Liverpool Empire was recently nominated for a national friendly theatre award. Who by?! It is apalling!
